Motor bike going mouldy.

It's been cold, got humid and gone cold again. Damp is happy.
Bike lives under a cover in the workshop.
I lifted the cover today.
Aaaaarrggggghhhh
White 'mould' on the motorway.
A quick spray with WD40 and a good wipe down with oily rag has helped.
Leaving cover off when not working should help.
Is it ACF50 time?
Is it just warm the puppy up and douse him?

Salt from sea air would probably be a contributing factor on those alloy parts.

Keeping the bike warm and dry is probably best. I'm impressed with @brightspark 's ACF50 12 year effectiveness from a presumed single application. I thought ACF50 contained volatile ingredients which would evaporate long before 12 years had passed. Having said that, I've just seen the ingredients list, and hydrotreated neutral oil isn't particularly volatile. I've not used the stuff.....yet!

I would say salt crystals too, Yes spray it up. Mine gets ridden in the winter and I just spray it at the start then clean all the muck off in spring.

scrubbing brush and soapy water dry and spray acf 50 ally goes white after a while even with no salt about

wash it off with cold water not hot and take it for a nice 100 mile ride to thoroughly dry off then spray.

Mine is sprayed with whatever I've got knocking about , I'll go for a spin when I feel like it whatever the weather ( as long as there's no ice ! )
I don't cover it up and it doesn't seem to be going mouldy !

With pushbikes, that got that sort of corrosion, they'd get a clean and polish up with Solvol Autosol, which supposedly leaves a thin protective layer. Not sure the protection lasted all that long, though.

ive just cleaned and polished the ally wheels and all the ally on my bike with autosol and recoated it all

Looks like salt spray, I have used ACF 50, not totally successfully. Am trying XCP clear this year on @Hood s recommendation.

I ask as tend to get it on the ali castings on truck and would like a simple nuetraliser /clean method .

Always used various oils on the bike over the years, but used ACF50 for the first time a couple of years ago, very impressed with it.

I used mouldy ironically.
I figured Salt spray and condensation.
Bike lives in my large unheated workshop. (Until monkey builders finish my shed). I've kept it under a cover.
Maybe leave that off to allow airflow unless I'm doing dusty work.
I plan on the odd ride out over winter to keep it from suffering things like carbs gumming up, brakes and cables binding.
So a good wash with just water then slather with ACF50?
Or what other treatments are there?

Covers cause more problems than they solve. Let the air get to it and it will likely be fine.
