looks like it's all welded in now, so the other option would be to replace the centre bolt with a stud welded through and put the washer & nut on the inside of the "scissor" which would make the external side flush and the same external dimension as the inside of the angle iron frame. the down side would be that you'd have to remove the whole scissor to take it apart.

while I'm on, watch yer fingers with the scissors action, had a potentially nasty near miss a few years ago with something similar when it let go unexpectedly as I was putting it together...

What sort of height does this give you? I manage with a standard lifting paddock but it’s a bit wobbly if one wheel isn’t on the ground.
