My Compressor Shed Build

thanks so much that's really helpful im looking for a compressor to run my plasma cutter and a few air tools like a die grinder, drill, file, hacksaw, ratchet, and impact gun. (not at the same time)

It should be more than man enough for what you want then. Note - with that particular compressor you will need a 20 Amp socket with a C-type MCB. B-types will trip.

i have 32A line with a type c for my mig so no problems there

Pretty much everything that was said in those threads seem correct to me. 14cfm equates to about 10 FAD, which compared to 18 is quite low. As said, the Clarke (and my Sip) is probably the biggest available on single phase.

I would think it not practical to run the 20 amp compressor from the 32 amp supply, instead wire in a dedicated 20 amp supply. Im no electrician, so I am hoping a sparky will come along and confirm that this is correct or not.

Its 18 FAD..

I have to point out that it's actually 14 CFM FAD. Although the motor is 4hp.
Also a bit expensive for that spec, IMHO.

im pretty sure my 32A supply means that is the most current you can draw
but im not too sure.
thanks for your help i have a large Mig made by sip its 180A dual purpose
and haven't had any problems so i think there compressors should be good as well

it might end up looking quite smart with two matching bits of kit
i think i will wait until i have enough money and get the same on you have

That's correct. The problem would be simply if you had both the compressor and welder running at the same time, the circuit could be stretched to full capacity or above. Separate feeds would remove that possibility.

Compressor capacity for these machines generally works if you consider 3cfm (fad) per hp.
