I just read your comment and thought wtf ....25 thou lol.Phew..
Its all over the place gragson. But I thankfully know where all the bits go.As impressive as your build is your ability to know where you have all the components big and small, seem to be spread throughout your gaff, enjoy catching up with these buld posts - brilliant stuff
The Harrison came with a fixed steady. Unfortunately not the original. Harrison having flat bed ways and this steady is for v ways. Looking at the build/design I would of likely said its probably dsg or similar. But the steady having 8.5 centre height and the Harrison being 9 its definitely workable. A job for pressbrake to machine the bottom of the steady and I will mount it to a nice lump of cast bringing the centre height to 9. Nothing is for sale here. Finding the original is totally impossible. Matching something similar has its challenges. If it wasn't the steady it came with I would only be modifying something else to fit so it might as well be the one it came with. There is only half inch between it so the original wouldn't of been much biggerSeems wasteful, i think id workout what lathe it belongs the and sell it, fixed steadies are so simple if personally make something sympathetic to the design.
Also the one you have seems a little small for the machine size

I never butchered it. It came like that. It will get used for something as I have something different.I will put my money on that steady being a DSG originally, before the bottom was butchered and a second vee cut. There even looks like a scribe mark in the centre of the vee at the front:

All I can say is At least it isn’t a large bore steady or I would be crying.

Well spotted . I didn't see the scribe line. But it's good to see how it was originallyI realised it had came to you like that, I just recognised it as I was sitting next to its friend drinking tea and wanted to solve the mystery.
