At least it should be more powerful than the pathetic Essex 3ltr that was in my Scimitar!
The beauty of the Essex is the torque though. It was never meant as a racing engine. That having been said, It can be tweaked to about 200BHP.
Not had chance to play with the idle again yet. I have been trying to find the gearbox switching for starter inhibit and reverse lights. Gearbox switch has three terminals. It appears common and reverse, with inhibit on the other terminal. However, I can't find any contacts on the inhibit side. I have tried another gearbox I had lurking and that is the same, so some head scratching to do!
