Our Hunter stove has U brackets with holes on the stove side and tube on the door. You drop a pin through the hole in the bracket through the door tube bit. It gives an extra benefit, as it opens it swings away at the same time and helps preserve the rope seal a bit.

How are those hinges holding out Norm?

Whats that about protecting the fire rope in the door?
Would it be possible to get a description and close pic of the door, that looks a good design.

How are those hinges holding out Norm?

The Mark 3 hinges (external design) worked fine all last winter
The wood burner worked really well, will need to re-commission the stove soon, it's starting to get cold again!
I need to do a re-design on the door flange because smoke sometimes escapes thru' the gap.
I need to come up with a new idea to use some fire rope to seal the door
