who remembers the old footprint wrench, had them for years in the toolbox.... haven't seen one for a long time now though, gone out of fashion i suppose....

I bought one from Screwfix a few years ago.

@tom2207 hmm, how do you use a footprint wrench to rivet a chain together?

@JMS1972 cool, still being made..... they were handy for smaller pipework, so usually had one of them and an 8" shifter in the pocket for rapid fixes, but would have been hung drawn and quartered by the foreman if I'd used them on nuts and bolts...

I had to do a load of plumbing on my rental cottage so bought one just in case!

they are handy to use as a base when riveting pedal bike chains back together , after splitting them with an old obo nail..... ah the days when I couldnt find a split link .


Or an engine come to think about it.

and those horrid bar bell like universal bike spanners ,,, oh I didnt like them

I don't think I've ever used one of those and not split it.

Standard issue for sparkies, used for conduit work, I still have a few pairs. They have probably been superceded now.
