need a new air body saw

I do need a new air body saw though for just incase to replace the broken one

I know what you mean at the moment its one of those tools you dont use often but when you do very handy. Useful when splitting something while trying to cause as little damage as posible.
Have tries all sorts of blades from expensive to re ground hacksaw blades, but never found them to cut well for very long.

no blades cutting metal last that long TBH in my experience, ho do u re ground a hacksaw blade

I just meant i grind the end down in height till it fits in the clamp on the tool.

i could just fit broken hack saw blades in my one is this not the case with all body saws

Does it have to be a body saw? if its for car bodywork and sheet materials an angle grinder may suffice with a home made depth stop, that's what I use.

Show us your depth stop then, could be useful for the folks on here

ha ha ha it was to cut the sleeves inserts on my chassis after my one broke, a hack saw did the deed slow and steady

Recip saw is a good idea too. Ive used one in the past with a cut down blade where cutting depth has been limited. Had to make do with what was available at the time

When I grind down old Hacksaw blades I use them so they cut on the back stroke. Plus I grind the end at the non tool end into a curve. I think that's takes the stress out of the cutting.

maybe ill just get another silverline cheapie then i will have spares

Have you looked in you local, independent car spars place or tool places. Up here we have a few who do good tools and reasonable price.

If it is not an urgent purchase, a bit of leg work, you could save some hard earn £££££.

I noticed in Cromwell's jan sale that they had some mispriced/heavily discounted body saw blades, sooo.. I ordered £60 quids worth of blades for £6, which meant I could afford to go for the Chicago Pneumatic 7900, not cheap but in my mind it was now as good as half price, so I could justify it Just arrived today, very pretty thing, must chop something up tomorrow.
