I had to flush the new, to me, Ingersoll Rand 3 times before I had cleanish oil. But I only paid £90 for it, so I was happy enough.
Make sure the drain is at the lowest point and open the tap. Be prepared for smelly water spray! You will probably find that the support feet height is set so the tank is at a slight angle so the water pools around the drain tap.

Get pump oil, no need for fancy, and probably not suited. It's got no combustion by products, doesn't get near car engine temperatures, so no need for long chain hydrocarbon or synthetic.
Mineral oil suits the bearings and seals, thicker film at the pressures and temperatures an air pump works at. I'd actually avoid synthetic, too thin.
If you run it daily, change it after a month. If weekly, 6 months. Thereafter once a year, unless running all the time.
I use Smith and Allen compressor pump oil, it's fine.
I use the air line to drive any undrained oil out of the sump, gets a more comprehensive flush.
Thats an expensive engine. This water spray is clean and odourless ?
My golden rule is never let the oil get dirty.
I change the Mobil 1 in my Mercedes 5.5L roughly every 4,000 miles so it stays crystal clear.
10 L oil £90, new engine £75,000 fitted. No brainer.
Yep shocked me when I saw a numpty on UTUbe drive his into water. And then bitched like hell it was so expensive. Think his quote included £12K to remove and fit it.Thats an expensive engine.
The Mercedes is worth regular oil changes, the compressor is splash fed and cheaply manufactured with tolerances nowhere near the Mercedes. If you are changing clean oil that frequently all you are doing is wasting money in reality and I say that as someone who believes in regular maintenance and oil changes.
