New helmet needed.

The Royal Snail don't seem to be able to get a simple A4 envelope from one town to the next in less than a week nowadays...

I ordered some bearings last Friday from an ebay seller and contacted him to ask when they would be posted. He replied that they would be posted in 20 minutes time, this would make it just after 5.00 p.m. The post lady was knocking at my door with them at 12.30 p.m. Saturday next day, approximately 140 miles in under 24 hours so I can't complain. I like the idea of the true colour screen instead of green in the helmet, let us know does it make any difference when you get to use it Chunk ?

My optrel (same as Chunko's) has the true colour screen. Never really thought about the actual colour, but it's a whole lot clearer than my budget helmet.

Took it into work today and gave it a try in combat.
Very pleased, very comfortable, being able to fine tune the level of shade is great, played about with speed of response and sensitivity and can see why it is such a pricy option.
The lens when undarkened is much brighter than any other helmet I have tried, the option of having flipped half way up for quick checks on the workpiece is handy and being able to flip it right up seems useful.
I was surprised by how comfy it is. I think having the suspension system for the hardhat spreads the weight over your whole head rather than just clamping it around the sides of the old brainbox.
I will; get some photos of it next time I am in.
I spoke the the guy i bought it from and he cant get any more. I think he may not have realised what a pricy piece of gear it is.

Mine's a few years old now but doesn't get used like many here would do (I'm an electronics techie primarily), spends most of its time in its box but never fails to go dark when necessary

Been looking into this. The E680 looks like a great helmet, gets good reviews and has a great spec. I like the look of it too. How did you get one for £200 though. The cheapest I've seen on is £260 on ebay. 'In the shops' as they say, they are often well over £300.

Got mine off ebay brand new. It was started at £70 with make an offer, I cheekily offered £80 and it was accepted instantly never payed so fast in my life got it three days later.

These helmets have never seen daylight, moonlight or Fanny By The Gaslight... and we can't get any more 'cos they've changed the locks

I've had my Optrel satellite for a few years now and i cant imagine using another helmet! When you're wearing something like this on your head for so many hours a day it needs to be comfortable! Good choice!!

Lovely. I thought the adjustments for speed of reaction and sensitivity were a bit gimmicky.
Find myself changing the speed one a few times a day according to what I am doing.
Well worth the spend.
