well i got the 2 migs on monday. one is a 150te and one a 150en both similar machines to look at. one had the torch end missing and the other had a wire feed problem, part of it had snapped off that clamps the top roller down on the wire.
me and a mate swapped the torch over and it seems to work fine. i just got a disposable argon c02 bottle from halfords to test it.
so i could do with a proper gas bottle. i rang up solway heaters who do air products stuff but the women on the phone knew about as much as i do about gases so we didn't get any where. Should i be using co2 or argon c02 mix and what percentages?
tasty tyres do a 9l bottle filled to 137 bar argon c02 mix for £55 deposit and £43 for the gas with no rental charge
i think that would do me then i dont have a great big bottle to move about the garage and im not tied into any monthly payments.

well my tig arrived today guys! i have to admit i went for one made in china 
its a 200 amp ac/dc hf machine with pulse ect. i will get a few pics up later. so far ive put a plug on it and powered it up and seems ok so far. i just need to get a fitting to connect the gas hose to the regulator then im all ready to go, hopefully.

It's no good talking to the receptionist at Solway heaters, she did not even know they sold welding gas when I asked..luckily the guy came in as I was leaving and showed me the range of bottles they keep in the back.

i rang up a few weeks ago and she didn't have a clue, no help at all. i got my hobbyweld argon from hunter engineering at carlisle.
cheers mate, no pics will be going up of how ive got on so far lol as all ive done is make a mess and spend most of the time grinding tungsten's.
it doesnt look like i will be getting much else done with it as when i turn it on now it just trips the fuse in my garage circuit box. i guess that will teach me for buying Chinese gear.
