New Parkside Professional line

I think Parkside (whoever they are & made) might struggle to find market volume for the professional range.
I bought a brushless multi tool from that range which performs & built well, but hardly stressed and not daily use, reason is have the batteries.
But the price point was easy 3x higher than the usual Parkside stuff, so I wonder if trades would risk it over the known pro brands despite the warranty?

@Memmeddu any idea what they are looking to charge?

No, I gave a serious look to the new Erbauer stuff and despite the warranty I wasn't impressed

The thread title as been discussed last year , I've made a mistake writing professional, we are talking about hobbyist tools that can find an application in real life work scenario .
I've been using my brushless drill in professional environment since I've bought it.
As an electrician I'm not going to destroy it by drilling hundreds of holes .
But I've used to drive screws for anchors and wood , holes on plastic and metal .
Assembly and disassembly power tools and small engines with it .
Other than that I've used it for hobby and as I'm a member of this forum my hobby is metalworking.
It survived tapping ,hole saws ,many holes ,wire wheeling , and angle grinder disc attachment .
It's a pretty good drill to be honest and the price is good too , plus 3 years warranty

The parkside stuff isn't bad for home/shed use. I had a good few of their tools over the years and they have never let me down. A cordless drill was very good, only the death of the battery spoiled it.

Since this thread started I spent £2k on Makita kit. I gave every make a serious looking at and decided to stick with what I know.

No regrets with any of it

And you're right.
I've done something similar with corded tools
Metabo is my way to go
And for hand tools Beta and Knipex.
Nothing better than using what you know and what you like to use and makes you happy while using .
But for cordless tools ,in my case isn't worth to spend too much money on it , because I do prefer corded tools anyway

Never had to send any Makita kit back & always been able to get spares right down to a new drill casing.

I just got this Parkside Performance drill in the post today. £59 on ebay it was brand new sealed in its carry case still. Private seller from Belfast.

Very impressive drill. Nice ergonomics and very powerful. The chuck is also 13mm and high quality all steel construction. I think this is fixing to be the nicest drill I've ever used and I have Dewalt & Milwaukee cordless drills already.



It was just the bare drill I bought the battery & charger separately.

I will be watching out for Lidl performance stuff from now on. Doesn't seem to come around often though.

I will use this drill for a couple weeks and report back on thoughts for anyone curious.

Any of those low-mid range drills like Erbuaer or Parkside performance are a decent enough drill & will perform well for most DIY'ers. The problems occur when something goes wrong & you discover that parts are either very hard to source or very expensive or often not available at all as I discovered when I went looking for parts for a broken Erbuaer cordless drill.

Off topic here - bought whole set of Parkside cranked ring spanners from Lidl the other week - 6mm to 22mm (£8.99)

Used one the other day - held 18mm AF retainer bolt with new Parkside special - banging away with Milwaukee high output gun. Bolt so tight would not come undone - jammed Parkside spanner up against subframe - got 3/4" 1mtr long breaker bar out - bolt released and Parkside spanner did not break/deform. £9 quid well spent -

Having owned about 8 - 10 cordless drills to date I have never had a broken part on one. Usually they just get old and the batteries start to die and a better drill comes along.

For my level of usage I do not think spares will be an issue but I'll stand corrected if that changes! I would also surmise that any trigger electrical switch etc is likely to be a generic part available on flebay etc should it be required.

Now If I was buying a £300 Milwaukee drill for pro daily use then you bet I'd be wanting full parts availability.

I have those in the toolbox in the truck from the last time they came round. They’re really good. I’ve abused mine too.

Bought another set yesterday for cutting up. Always handy for making odd spanners for weird things.

I've a couple of Lidl performance tools, grinder and drill.

They're okay. The grinder is better than their standard cordless, but not as powerful as an old Hitachi battery grinder I've had for years.

It's good with a plasma disk, good run time.

One thing that annoys me is the battery is at an angle to the body, so it doesn't stand up. The Hitachi is so handy in that regard.

I would like an adapter from the Hitachi to the Lidl batteries, that would be ideal.

I would like an adapter to try Ferex batteries in my Makita stuff, they are 20v rather than 18v but probably close enough, only 2AH but they only cost £17each with a 2 year guarantee.
Just bought son in law a Ferex combi drill, charger and battery all for £51 delivered. The most DIY he does is assemble Ikea furniture

@James1979 Beer is cheap in Lidls - they always got - Shepherds Neame beers on the shelf.

I don't think I could drink a whole £7.35 worth of bottled beer from Lidls in one go now at my age - five bottles would be too much for me now.
