Newish fiberglass roof leak. Repairable?

Why do they build them flat? I have never encountered a flat roof that doesn't leak

Don't forget the goggles. gloves and overhauls as fibre glass grinding is a total B*****D!! Course sanding disc's and grind back twice as far as you think. Hoover up all the dust and dry with a hot air gun. Degrease everything and I would G4 seal it first. then a few layers of chopped strand matting flattened down with the paddle roller, followed with the gel-cote. ^^^^ Dust mask is vital, I spent most of my working life boatbuilding, quite a lot was heavy duty GRP repairs, at times the dust was 4" thick on the floor under the boat. I lived in a Racal airstream powered respirator & wore two out. Without them i would probably be in a box. I hate grinding to this day!

Not enough gel coat on that job...can be patched by sanding back, clean with acetone, use resin and few layers of mat but must be bone dry and spotless clean. Not a big fan of f/g for roofing as it has no thermal movement.

Yes Mate, read instructions and pay attention to hardener percentage for temperatures on the working day. Ignore using top coat this time of year being novice and just get it watertight with the resin and mat till next spring and then consider your options for making a permanent solution to your problem.

cfs is my local supplier. my roof was done with their stuff 7 years ago and its top notch still.

and note the cfs prices include activator.

but dont be tricked but the cheapest options, the cfs top option is only 5l, the selco one is 10. compare the 20l prices.

I know @roofman doesn't agree, but I really like epdm.
Requires proper installation but the convenience is hard to match.

It does have its place in the flat roofing world and very easy to use, i am old school and still can't bear to think of having K rend on my house too.

as I'm completing a silicone render job.

The one product in hate, despite having used it on my own home (market expectations for selling) is composite cladding. Nothing rivals real wood.

Personally I'd grind back a little more, so the whole surface I would be attaching to is ground and clean off any remaining dust with acetone.
Consolidate the matting with a fibre glass roller:

You can make then by putting different outside diameter washers on a shaft or get yourself a piece of round bar, drill a hole for the axle and put some grooves along the length with a parting tool. Cheaper the paint brush the better. Wash in acetone.
Use an old plastic ice cream tub to mix the resin, any that goes off will come out easily.

I've done literally what you said except I bought a consolidating roller for a few quid.
The matting in the photo is on the ground down surface but I might have splodged a bit much resin on that corner

Just a recap on this roof, so far so good...
The wet patch has now been dry for a couple of months and we've had some hard rain and wind so I'd say it's a success!
