how does it damage the socket?
I thought the issue was putting it in upside down?

Please read the data.
ONE, of the issues is being able to insert the device upside down into sockets that only require the earth pin to open the shutters.
Others require correctly shaped live pins to open the shutters, others require all pins of the correct shape to open the shutters.
Thus incorrectly sized pins can damage the shutter mechanism if forced in, and as has been proven here, Joe Public has no idea about such things.
Also, the internal electrical contacts are designed to accept pins of a specific dimension.
These devices do not have to adhere to these dimensions thus they can be forced into the sockets, straining the connections and thus allowing a plug of the correct dimensions to make a loose connection with the socket thus potentially causing a fire.

Yeah against me, who posted the bulletin, which has nothing to do with me, nor does the origin of the research of this bulletin.
I am just sick of people posting who have not done the research into why these things are unsuitable.
They are simply attacking me personally because they can't be bothered to look up the real facts themselves.
