The alternative is that they don't do it for such small low value items. Its ridiculous. If YOU decide you need the example USB cable that quickly, then its up to you if you drive into town or not, but most times you won't. You will leave it until you are going into Fortnum & Masons or wherever for you weekly shop, or to get some pies. Perhaps you should have a spare in any case, if its that important to you ?So what's the alternative.
For higher value stuff it's not so bad, but I really think people should consider this more, rather than the selfish "I want it now".
If is is genuine emergency stuff like a kidney for transplant, that's completely different, but I would hope one wouldn't be using Amazon for that in any case.
