Looks like you are correct Olek. Oerlikon appears to have been bought by Lincoln in April this year, by aquisition of Air Liquide Welding.

ESAB generally make great consumables, Lincoln and oerlikon also have a fine range. I tend to use a lot of Esab consumables as I get a good discount on them at my LWS.
I don’t tend to use ESAB machines, I like lorch stuff.

OK 48.00s a good quality rods and I’ve used them on lots of big stuff with no issues. They need to be fresh out of the vac pac or baked though.

AWS classifications are a general guideline to classifying an electrode. It’s not black and white I’m afraid.

7018 and 7018-1 are different things.

7016 Spezials and 7016-1 are completely different consumables.

Would you mind to ask Lincoln what difference that mean (7018-1, I am suspecting the introduction of PTFE in the binder, hence the H4R, moisture resistance) ?

I did write to Lincoln twice but never had an answer (due to my European location I think they do not bother)

Nope 7018 and 7018-1 designation has nothing to do with the moisture contents. It’s to do with the mechanicals the rod can achieve.

So -1 have not a particular meaning out of the fact metallurgic characteristics change (I mean that is the same thing for any rod that use -1)

@Brad93 hey buddy forgot my manners cheers for the great advice top class information just acquired loads of filarc rods not sure what I got also got primex welding rods still also got some murex ferex 7016 welding rods kicking about used to love comets but can't find them at the moment can't remember what they changed there name to again sadly don't do enough stick welding all I do is mag welding at the moment
Forgot to ask what's the average price of a 48.00 these days

The -1 is to do with the Toughness of the weld metal.

53.16 Spezials are the double coated things.

53.00 are the standard 7016 - not common over here at all.

I’ve got a few data sheets for the murex rods, let me know what you have and I’ll try and get some info over. Can’t help you with the comets not something I’ve used.

Not a clue mate I get quite a bit of discount from my LWS. I’d say about £110-140 for a carton of x6 vac pac inners

To be fair I got a lot of rods a site safe full I'll look in what I got I know there's lots of vac packs but after looking at prices due to I know do more welding then say 3 years ago the price of buying in bulk seems to work out cheaper in the long run. Can't find nu 5s cheap tho
