Mots aren’t that readily available!Even with the lane fee and the stupid prices a mot is cheaper it would appear so wouldn't you just mot it every 6 weeks.?

this old thing had 3.8t payload. with a steel body. with a ally body id expect itd have 4t avaliable even with a crane.
They have, this is a farm workshop!I was using a beam and bottle jack 50 years ago - I thought things had moved on a bit since then!
I would also agree PMI's are gonna get expensive.
Was about £130 > £150 with a brake test - last time I spoke to someone about it - but I expecting that will double - based on very few heavy brake rollers about. Demand increasing....
I have been told the newer stuff is heading for dealer only diagnostics.Doesn't really amount to much if the truck is out earning. Works out at about £120 per week per truck for PMI'S and the TM's costs, it all gets a bit silly when they are parked up. The industry seems to be heading for manufacturer supplied trucks with a contract maintenance package. The TM is supposed to run audits and spot checks on any maintenance providers to ensure they have appropriate facilities in place to do the job properly, even goes as far as needing to see calibration certs for things like torque wrenches, rolling roads and fitter qualifications. Nets closing in on the small fish.
