From what I can see from the parts list the only spares you can get for the E684 in terms of air fed add ons is the face seal, the air hose holder and the shell with the connector for the hose, but not the connector on its own.
Happy to be proved wrong though

Do what I do when welding at the bench I have another hose to extend the one on my adflo and I hang it on a hook under the bench when I'm welding at it or if under a car I can lie it beside me

Shouldn't be hard to make it work the only pice different will be the connection on the end of the hose

Right, looks like the advertising blurb from Optrel contains a few errors. According to my conversation today the standard shell does not support the retrospective fitting of the face seal kit.
You could buy the parts and I’m sure you could make them fit but it’s just not viable. Looks like it may be a translation issue as the ADF will transfer easily to a new PAPR shell but that’s as far as the compatibility goes.
If you are looking to upgrade then I can certainly come up with some price information but it’s not the easy swap we thought. Sorry.

Everything I read on optrels web site, lead me to believe you could upgrade a std e684 shell to air.

Perhaps they will replace ours with what is advertised + the breathing set up FOC, as we were mislead as to what we were buying = sale of goods act.
It is not your problem @Jim Davey you were mislead!! same as us by advert, nice of you to pursue it.
Shame that a multinational will not front up to their mistake, as the hood is so good.

The prices for the system are rather high to say the least, in my other business we purchase 2000 \ 3000 Mah OEM lithium batteries for £20\30 chargers for about the same, so we are paying £ 500\600 for motor\fan filter & extruded plastic, a reasonable middle of the road welder £ 1000\ 1200, go figure why this is a low volume market item.

Yes I looked it out today. The tabs that hold ducing to the headband need to be cut off and another means of fixing to optrels headband. Wouldn’t take much to make secure and neat.

I have always wanted a vented mask, but it just doesn’t work with my type of work. Don’t understand why cant they make it all fit in the lid. You could always have an external battery belt mounted for production environments.
