The OP asked for an oxy propane setup, similar to the thread I linked to. In between, somehow, there was a large conversation about regs etc which wasn't there when I posted the link, so it seems incongruous.

I don't think the info is out of place at all.

Feen, as you know I have had one of Weldquip's sets for a few day now and find it very good at the jobs that are too small for arc. I did not want to learn mig or tig (it's an age thing) and oxy propane brazing is good for nearly everything else.

TBH I bought the set for working with miniature copper boilers which are silver soldered. There is enough heat to allow me to step braze as well.
Weldquip keeps basic flux and gas welding goggles, good quality and good price, but they are not listed so you will have to PM him.

I bought a few extra nozzles, standard O/A ones and am now good to go.
I can keep this thread up to date on how I get on but so far I would recommend the set if it's what you want.

After excellent communications with Steve at Weldequip late on Saturday night (proper customer service) an order was placed and my new oxy/propane kit arrived today.

Just off down to the workshop, back in a mo..............

All looks good. I've decided to do a bit more research before I connect it all and start.

Is it just common sense to use PTFE tape on all the connections?

I'll check out a couple of you tube videos tonight then start tomorrow.

No. Especillay not with Oxygen (unless it's oil-free PTFE).
Hand tight with a suitable spanner & leak test before use

I think it fair to say, if you have to ask such a fundamental question safety question, you should really think about signing up for a O&A safe use and practices course, your a long time dead, mate!!

PTFE tape is widely used on other thread applications, so his question wasn't stupid; the answers only easy if you know it.

Fair comment, would an O&A course be relevent for my setup?

I had previously said to Steve in an email that although I have used OA several times in the past, until I watched the safety video posted on the forum, I had no idea what I was doing back then and probably did everything wrong!!

I am still alive however, and I've been cautious enough today to unwrap the kit and leave it be until I have researched it a bit more.
