SOME hydraulic hose will operate at higher pressures, but NOT MANY. A good number of single-wire and two-wire hydraulic hoses are rated at less than 150 bar when new, and if used for decanting will fail.
We manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies, and do not have the required equipment for 700 bar - not many manufacturers do.

reid suply industrial products do the hose 10.000psi working pressure not that i kept thread going .thought it was dead and buried . the kits are available though from portaflame £50 so i wouldnt think they would still sell them publicly if it wasnt safe. i can see your concern best thing is delete the whole thread ive got the information i wanted

And of course, the ends are generally steel, which are not suitable for Oxygen service iirc.
I thought hydraulic hose working pressure varies dependant upon its size, a 1/4" 2wire is something like 400bar, where as a 3/4" is only about 200bar.
Single wire is even less, only about 100bar for 3/4"
And the temperature will have an effect on it aswell.

Regarding the Portaflame and microflame kits like Brightspark rightly says both kits are available if you wanted to purchase either kit tomorrow, but I don't think the de-canting hose that I got for the Portaflame is still available, because the portaflame cylinders haven't got a high enough test pressure, only the microflame cylinder has its test pressure over 300bar and you fill it up through the built in regulator that is on the bottle itself, but unsure if it regulates the pressure going in to the cylinder though. After going out and having a look at the cylinders that I have, I have found that two of the bottles are out of test and should be re-tested or scrapped, as well as as the fact that like fridgeman I haven't been totally comfortable with the de-canting operation and the realisation of the test pressures on the portaflame kit wont be doing it again even though I have the means, I certainly acknowledge and echo the fears of others in this thread, and on others in the forum that under no circumstances should anyone try and cobble up a home made de-canting hose its just not worth it, paying BOCs rental is a hell of a lot safer.
