I have seen a few iveco’s with almost no back plate left. there was a bit of fiddly fabricating but worth it. You can see here the slight variation in colour on the cross member
Father thought he only needed brake pads but while it was all jacked up I gave it a good going through. Refurbished the callipers,

new disc’s and pads then notice some rust so sorted that as well then while the front was off new hoses, and a thermal fan clutch, I thought I might as well do it while its off, didn't do the cam belt, I did it the year before.

As you say they are great trucks mechanicaly as long as you can keep on top of the tin work.
Fathers is a 1997 its the 5912 with 200,000 on the clock and still strong, he also picked up another one a couple of years ago for parts.
