parweld xtt202 ac/dc pulse, whats what?

yeah makes sense i wanted to start tig welding at my old work but he wouldn't get me on a welding course or get a second hand machine so could of have 10 years under me if he did but starting a little late going on 30 so will take some time to pick up tips and tricks from people like yourselves and crucially experience.

Experience is the key, I am self taught although nowadays you can pick up things from the internet, sometimes though they can be the wrong things, lots of YouTube jockeys that are, well I better not say

Also I will add that there is no right and wrong way to do something if it works for you.

i gotcha i hear you haha and yeah exactly some things work for some people and some dont work at all, im hear to get advice of people to try understand my machine better and get some basic settings and go from there

Don't get me wrong, there are lots of good youtube videos out there but as said there are lots that are not so good. Welding Tips and Tricks is decent in my opinion but some of the others, especially one of the guys that does pulse Mig Aluminium ones I am not so keen on, again though that is all just personal preference..

yeah iv mainly watched his vids from tips and tricks and a few from the fabrication series chanel and weld.com just got to make sure i get the right settings provided into the machine still abit unsure on the pulse bit but ill leave that alone for now but if i have a play sure ill get it after more practice

would we still go with them settings still with it being a argon and helium mix just to double check? not sure on the mix its just in 1 large long bottle and thats what im told it is argon and helium im assuming premixed in the bottle

From what you had above I think they are very good for first few welds, the basics are and time/practice is what you need. I am a messer with everything, I like to experiment, even though something is going well I will try something different, it may make it worse or it may make it better but either way it gives you a better understanding. One thing though, don't change a load of settings at one time, it will just confuse things.

If it is argon helium mix then it will be a hotter weld so likely a lower current would be required for a given material thickness but if things are working just tweak one way or the other and see what you end up with.

yeah i understand in the first 20 mins of playing i was changing bits and bobs and it just frustrated me so put the torch down and come back to it next day ha
