adjusts the fuel delivery amount on that individual pump and nozzle.

what you are doing is rotating that one pump element, in relation to the rack which controls the three, so as to adjust the amount that pump gives, each will be different, not the timing as the guy in the vid says. it should be set on an injection bench, so that you can see the amount delivered to each injector, is equal.
it is MUCH easier to remove the 3 pumping elements out of the body complete.

Thanks WV, apart from different annoying bolt head, that looks identical, its off an 803 I believe, I'm not up on JCB model numbers but its a 3 tonne digger. I even have the part numbers now We will double check them of course with the dealer.

I know this is an old post but it is an easy fix. The socket is a 10mm pentagon, turn of diesel or clamp feed pipe,loosen top pipe collar or nut (the one out the top going to the injector) loosen corresponding collar or nut at injector so as to ease removal of item. Take 10mm socket and carefully loosen the two pentagon bolts holding the flange, the unit will now pull out, you may need to prize a little with a flat blade screwdriver, there are two o rings these can be removed with a large darning needle or a dentist tooth pick. Clean with a soft cloth, Replace with approrate o rings and smear with a little grease to ease reinserting do so carefully you may need tighten the two bolts each a little at a time until fully home. Tighten the oil pipe collar/nut on the piece you have just fitted just sweet tight. Replace the top collar/nut at injector just finger tight, start the engine and bleed at the bottom collar then the collar at the injector when at air is out and engine running nice and even tighten up both collars tight. JOB DONE
