First ForceaArc Puls on 12 mm steel plate with 10 mm setting on EWM to keep it safe for 300 A rated torch. I really needed it on last weekend.
And.. I am happy

Don't beat me about weld quality, it was first try with no warmup. But it looks relatively good without tweaking and out of the box settings...

My first tries were really horrid but that was because I had all the wrong settings chosen
Once I got them set correctly the welds got better and only needed a wee bit of tweaking to get it set to the way I like to weld but even without the tweaking it worked great.

I definitely need to tweak settings. Or choose right program. Job settings are correct, but I worked with program 0.
It made PA or PB positions with same settings, only changed material thickness.

Site is showing nothing for me now when I try and look at the Migs, even the VPN isn't working.
Is this an omen

Maybe it is saying keep your money safe in your wallet

Once mine was set up to my liking I could weld from 3mm to 20mm in any position just by altering the pot (wire speed) on the push-pull

Today I used steel wire, but I bought gasless wire and dualshield.

One more thing in my mind:
Welder weighs 34 kg + 15 kg welding wire
If I drive it inside van and drive through road bump or hole, then inertia moment can break wire spool holder .. Am I overthinking or not. .

I have had my welder in my car for days at a time, sometimes weeks and never had an issue however, as you know, it is just Aluminium I MIG so even a full roll is only 7Kg. If you are worried though I am sure you could rig up some sort of support out of a hard foam or similar, maybe house insulation board?

I think same, that better be safe. I do not have Phoenix in Van yet. I figure out something.maybe two types of foam.... I have some idea already ..

It happend, that I like Ott Tänak. I also got new tyres for my Transit Custom

Couple days ago I drove over laid policeman type of bump really normally, I heard, that my toolboxes jumped in back. If it is like 3 times G forces, then 15 kg becomes 45 ...
And it can be even more than 3G .....

If you think letting a £5,000 welder bounce in the back of your van is a good plan then you are going to be needing more than just some foam around the spool holder to stop the set getting damaged.

I completely agree with Jim. I have quite a few dollars in the back of my truck and it has been there for up to 20 years. People ask me does it move around and I tell them 'not unless I have two wheel off the ground around corners' It is your hard earned money in the back so treat it with respect and it will respect you

I definitely will lock my welder in nicely place. This is no question.... But if I drive through road hole or bump, this is what I am worried about. Inertia inside locked welder spool remains same. Hope that clarifies my point of view....

. As Hood has mentioned I too have traveled with full spools of wire, but again alli, so not the same weight as steel. If you are concerned, remove the spool. My original Essetti machines must have done over 500000 km without drama. If the road is rough or has rough spots, then it pays to look out for them and drive accordingly. This is what I do

That is something I would avoid personally, the cost difference is quite big or at least for Aluminium it is, also having to feed the wire through my push pull 3 times instead of just once would be something to avoid.
Fair enough you probably won't be using a push-pull and I suppose the cost difference won't be so great with steel but.......

Yes, it's 10 kg lighter. My welding cart takes more time for build. But I think, that I will go remove spool or 5 kg roll option...
