Don't see why it wouldn't work as long as the runners are up to carrying the weight and moving smoothly with the weight.Mr @Hood , not sure whether this is a good idea or not but amongst the bits I have gathered for my cnc plasma table build are two 4`long 250kg capacity 150% extending drawer runners. The intention was to be able to pull out the whole water tray on the runners to rescue small bits that fall through and for cleaning purposes.

You sure? seems to be plenty available on eBay etc unless it is not exactly the same..... He uses Borax in the water, which I discovered is banned in the UK.
If you were able to get some more, then I would think about zoning the table, maybe into 2. I have a 3m x 1.5m bed, but find a lot of the time i am cutting at one end of it. If its into 2 sections , then its going to be easier to move as well.
