I have a comedy leak in my house.
it is a 110 year old terrace in Swansea.
In the outside loo there is a plastic waste pipe coming down from upstairs and going through the floor.
The waste pipe is about 35mm from a wall on one aide and up against a wall at 90 degrees to the first wall
Between wall 1 and the waste pipe is a lead water pipe from the mains. A tight fit.
Lead pipe has sprung a tiny leak, literally pinhole sized. So a very small spray of water is coming out. Press a finger on and it pretty much stops.
Cunningly the leak is level with the middle of the waste pipe making it innacessible.
the lead pipe cant be accessed from the other side because the waste pipe is in the way. Outside the loo the pipe is under concrete. it might be possible to access it by lifting a slab or two.
it may have been doing this for ages so no flooding issues. yet.
Long term I need to replace the section of pipe by the look of it. the loo can be taken out as I never use it.
Is there a short term fix/bodge?
If I turn the stopcock (outside in the street) off is there some sort of cement or 'Stuff' that can be applied to the pipe to stem the leak? There is no room to put a wrap around the pipe.
Any advice appreciated.
