plumbing isolation valves?

got some unknown kitchen taps to change , i think they are hardlined into the copper

if i measure the pipe ...these things say compression fitting , i assume i can fit this to a clean bit of pipe and no other olives /stuff needed , then a flexi onto the valve

you can get flexis that screw directly onto the isolation valve to save on a length of copper on the otherside if you need to. either way works

and the valves just tighten onto clean copper ?

screw turn or lever isolation or dont matter?

depends on tap/s if it is just a pair of tapes kitchen are nomally 1/2" the mono kitchen taps come with tails normally.

your choice on valves, depending on the room you have. I normally use standard isolation valves with a screwdriver, you can also get the flexis with buit in compresion fittings and isolation valves.

cleanish copper no paint the olive will seal the fitting to the copper.

these will do the job just fine for you, it is probably the easiest option, well apart from the push fit flexis that is.

I generally use a cheap isolating valve and the 1/2 to 1/2 flexi, makes it easier for me to change or remove taps at a later date

While you can get away with that, screwing the flexi straight onto the end of a compression fitting is not the best. The rubber washer in the flexi works more reliably with a flat surface to seal on. The end of the compression fitting is countersunk for the olive and can sometimes be a little sharp. As one of the comments on SF says, they would save customers money by sourcing and selling some flat faced isolation valves.

right i have the 15mm valves and taps....the thread measures approx 21mm is that right? 15mm flexis fit onto a 21mm ish thread lol

went with a bit of copper each side of the valve so i could alter to suit the flexi and not have excess length

Most taps come with Flexi hoses these days. Have a check first and see. Some will fit straight onto the valves. Some come with 15mm compression.
