I can't work this one out. I've never had any desire for personalised plate on any vehicle, but my daughter has one. I obviously failed to bring her up correctlyDo personalised plates show a lack of personality? or on a car that has no personality.
I didn't notice for three years or so until a pull and the rozzer spotted it.
I drove about in a works pickup for three years with the wrong plates on it. Only got discovered when it went for its MOT.
Its even funnier if you know UK plates require yellow reflective background for the rear, white for the front...and you said "Surprise me"....
Which, for a colleague of mine, was true - or more likely, as the Police suggested, nicked to be used on a similar Mini elsewhere. Both front and rear missing.A mate of mines usual reply when asked if he knew his registration number was "why, have the plates fallen off"
My son had both nicked off his Land Rover a few years back, police came out & said they would likely to be used on a fill & run at a garage, but never were. No idea why they were stolen then.Which, for a colleague of mine, was true - or more likely, as the Police suggested, nicked to be used on a similar Mini elsewhere. Both front and rear missing.
That's my excuse for a private, short, plate on my Caterham - got fed up of snapping the original, long, plate on the rear when I caught it walking past it in the garageNot vain, but on my wish list is a 5 digit reg plate for my Jeep
It's purely for practical reasons, I need a plate narrow enough so it doesn't stick out either side of the front winch bumper
I did nearly buy M0YVT, it was on the cheap list but someone else got it
Other things to spend money on ATM so it's on the back burner
I presume that's just an example, not the actual plate.I did nearly buy M0YVT, it was on the cheap list but someone else got it
There was a story going the rounds about a guy who thought that the next MG model would be a MGD and so acquired a batch of reg no's in advance to try to make a killing. He was really p***d when it came out as an MGF.I presume that's just an example, not the actual plate.
I don't really care what other people choose, but it does irritate me a little when people buy something that requires mild (or sometimes severe) dyslexia to make it read what they think it reads. If they're going to mean something, I much prefer the subtle approach. I don't understand people who pay money out for a plate that matches their car - MGF plates on an MGF, just for example.
Like the early days of t'interweb with folks speculating buying domain names, the famous one that made a few bob was selling diy.com to B&QThere was a story going the rounds about a guy who thought that the next MG model would be a MGD and so acquired a batch of reg no's in advance to try to make a killing.
