thats true i suppose , like i said ill still be buying one but would be fairly p****d off if it wasnt working when it came , hope the op gets it going fairly soon
Got the PCB this morning off technical arc. Instructions good. Fitted it tonight and now have a Portamig that works. happy bunny now. All in all back up service from Weldequip and Technical arc pretty good. Certainly good to talk to the engineer that maybe put it together in the first place. all the courier hassle is certainly best avoided if possible.
I Just received my portamig 235 with the same problem. Waiting on the PCB to be delivered. Got to say it is really irritating when you receive a new bit of kit and have to fix it before you ever use it.
been waiting 7 weeks now with 2 emails to weldequip and no responses , and the more i read about them the more bloody problems they seem to be having for people who eventually recive them
It's a bit worrying if you are contemplating buying one, though. All the PCB components on a m/c like that should be up to at least middle military spec, with a failure rate of less than 0.1% on trial testing.
As Portamigs don't exactly fly out, we should see complaints based on PCBs on here about once every ten years...
