Powder coating oven

Hi guys thought I might run a few questions past you.
I have a basic little powder coating oven but I need to get something bigger as I have a few large bike frames coming in, and without spending £1000 I need to build one.
The one I have is just 1 old oven with a bit added onto it.

Now I thought about getting a few large sheets of 1.2 metal and some type of heat reflector packing to go between the sides.

My main question is I have a control board of a electric oven now can I link up a few oven heat elements (say 3 or 4) and contol them all form this one board etc

You could use the controller to control multiple elements but you would need a relay or contractor as the controller would probity not be man enough for the task. As for making one carn't see any problems as a normal oven is only a metal box with a bit of insulation round it so if your oven is a metal box with insulation there is no different!

Ok ggod to know. I hate electrics so I will be getting in a pro to wire the thing up.

anyone know of a good type of insulation I should use, my oven at the moment have foam and house loft insulation inside, it works but I'm not 100% on it.

Loft insulation is as good as any

Ok well that'll save me a few £££ then as I just had my house redone and I have a few left over.

Ok well I plan on building something 2m long 1m high and just under 1m wide.
I will remove as much from the setup I have and stick it in the new oven, hopefully I will be able to get a few set of wheels in at a time rather then doing them one by one.

I'll also get a long runner put in on the roof of the oven so hanging items will be easy.

Seams easy enough. Will take a decent power draw mind if you have three phase arrange the elements to use all three with a nice big contractor to control the lot

Yup got 3 phase at my unit, I've called a mate to start getting the wiring sorted on this.

No I have a digital cooker control unit which I was going to use

I've always thought a fan oven would blow all the powder off, before it had begun to "melt in", or whatever it does.
Not contradicting MK here - just assumed it had to be heat only, without the windy environment.

I assumed it would act like a turbulator fan in a paint oven, moves the air round slowly to even the temperatures out.

a fan might not be a good idea hadn't thought about it blowing the powder off! i wasn't thinking of a fan to out side job just a move the air around type but will bow out to greater experience as i have never power coated anything as the wife refused me use of the oven when i was thinking of getting a kit to do landy parts in!

Did think of that but she would work it out when there was nice powder coated bits on the landy
