Powdercoat supply and flocking question

Any one know what is in the gun part on powder coat gun, any electrics/wires or is it just metal that the main wire from the unit goes to ?

The only wiring in the gun is an earth strap which you'll see attached to the air inlet and the high tension wire that goes to the electrode.

Cleaning the gun after blowing flock though it is exactly the same as cleaning between different coloured powders, I keep a separate pot so I'm not wasting flock by cleaning it out all the time.

Thank you, i am tempted to try it, im also tempted to try a DIY hopper/shaker iv almost put together, it was just the wiring side i wanted to double check on,

or make a pot/shaker type to fit on the end like you pointed out to stop big chunks/clogging, have you already done this or on your to do list ?

I made a shaker using a separate module rather than using the powder gun, then I tried blowing the flock through the powder gun as already detailed.

I've just sold the shaker on Ebay and will make up another one using the output from the powder coater instead when I next want to flock something.

The shaker I made from some aluminium tube, delrin caps that I turned on the lathe. The electrode was a small drawer or cupboard knob and the hopper was a tesco clip top pot. I think the mesh started off life as a spatter guard.

I will have a play around hopefully this week, try difference ways for example just the powder coating gun, my own DIY job to play with, or maybe a little modified piece for the powder coat gun, see what results each get.

Once i find a supplier for flock that is.

Oh they're supposed to be green?

I'd always assumed they were black but coated in moss, lichen and assorted crap.
