Pressure switch inlet pipe fitment ?

This pipe will not stay in the pressure switch.

Does it just push in and held in with the rubber seals ?

Is that all that should hold it in place ?

Its a Clarke SE16C150, i have emailed Clarke a couple days ago but no reply yet and unable to find this part online for a diagram to check out.

could do with sorting it for this weekend. I am just looking now on amazon for a star washer and a set of 6x10 seals.

any help as always appreciated

These fittings usually have a collar that needs to be pushed in to release the hose from the fitting. Similar to this image
(blue part)


If this is missing or no longer part of the fitting then the hose won’t stay attached

Is that a ¼" copper tube? Looks similar to mine, that was a compression fitting with an olive. I've only ever seen push fit connectors used with plastic tubing

The star washers you linked to are not designed to secure pneumatic hoses

thats what is loosing me, the picture above is all that on the 6mm copper pipe connecting it to the switch. it just popped out once i got the compressor working and now wont stay in.

If i can find a diagram or the likes i can work out a way to fit it better. like the push fit you shown. I just dont want to remove the switch unless i need to.

yes 6mm copper tube, no compression joint here, that i can see. unless it inside the switch. but the end of the copper looks a clean cut not a snap.

Can you zoom out a bit and get a pic of the label on the pressure switch? Looks very like the old Danfoss one on mine.

Tell a lie, it's the new switch (also a Danfoss) that had the compression fitting, the old one had a flared end and a back nut. Either way I'd expect more than just a push fit connector to secure a copper tube.

Pushfit fittings can be used with copper as long as it’s not chrome plated

Is there a slit either side of the coupler body that's screwed into the switch? I think that it's missing a spring clip wgich locates in the groove in the ferrule, which is currently hanging out of the bottom in your photo.

Or, there's a sleeve nut that should be first onto the pipe. Is there a thread in the body?

well the 6mm copper pipe goes in the collar fitting thing that was in the second up picture. bottom pic is the collar removed.

If the socket is threaded 1/4" perhaps and the copper is 6mm use a 1/4" male X 6mm compression adaptor.
