Problems with "Watchman Sonic" Fuel Oil Sensor

I have three of them on three separate tanks. Yes they have failed, but I’ve had them all over ten years. Batteries get replaced, sometimes you have to Re-pair them (ie get them to see each other) either by removing the battery for 15 mins or some models have a pairing button, but largly they have been reliable and accurate. My oil supplier is always surprised when the oil I order is pretty much on the button for full tanks.

It's possible (likely?) that they are they are made in the far east - perhaps different batches in different factories? But at the price they sell for, there are worrying number of bad reports to be found on the net.

i'v got one of these and a watchman .
the watchman is sensitive to temperature variation
it threw a bit of a wobbler last week when it lost communication with the receiver reset cured it

That's the one I have, it's never gone wrong.

I think that may mean that they are assembled in Ireland, but the circuit boards with the electronics on could very well be imported. Even radio hams can (and do) get circuit boards made in China now.
