ofw in the main part has gone from the trade in the main part oxy fuel is a cutting and heating up tool
It can be used on thick stuff but the incidents you might need that are tiny
I trained 30 years ago and only really used it for welding in college and can only remember one other Job after yhat
It comes in for lead welding but that comes in for roofing and most not all just most of the guys doing it I know are plumbers
If you want to weld 1 mm then mig is the tool or tig.
Ofw is easy enough with good instruction on hand but I bet it's not easy to teach yourself
