My next question is couplings -
All my kit has the HVLP euro style couplings.
Just go for PCL branded, or somthing fancy like this -
(theyre about £20 vs about a tenner)
Given that the seal on my compressor (pcl branded) coupling has been leaking for ever... but then it has seen some use also.

Those Prevost couplings are really nice, I first saw them at a compressor specialist. He said the one demo they do when show them in a factory production line is pull the release on a standard coupling and fire a tool out the end, they then do the same with the Prevost but point the tool at their face. I press of the button and it dumps the pressure and the tool doesn't shoot out.
They said they've driven over them with the forklift and they still work perfectly and they cope well in dirty environments. There is also no risk of them uncoupling if you pull thme across the floor when you have two hoses joined.
I think they couple easier than a standard XF too, That's a difference I've noticed going from standard PCL to XF, my kids sometime struggle to couple the XF ones but they never had an issue with the standard PCL
If you only need 1 or 2 then I would go the Prevost route but I think it's only worthwhile on the end of a hose not at the compressor. I had to buy loads for my airlines so I went the XF route otherwise it would been another £150 on top of the stupid amount I spent switching to XF. I suspect it's one of those items where at face value it's not worth 3 times as much money but once you've used it you won't regret buying it.
You mention the leaking, I have to say since I've switched to XF from standard PCL(PCL 19) I've noticed the XF couplings seem far more prone to leaking especially in static situations IE at the compressor. A quick twist back and forth and all is good again.
