I have made a couple of
small model bikes
A small chopper I made for a mate. About a foot long
it did get a seat later made out of the handle of a spoon.

And tandem I made as a memorial to an old boy from The CTC, same sort of size,

or you could use old bearings as wheels like I did with this mx bike.

I have built a few of these smart little things in the past including a chopper bike. I used the outer casings of a couple of wheel bearings for the wheels (wider one for the rear and narrow one for the front then tacked some small bars inside for spokes. I have a close friend that builds them on a bigger scale and he gave me lots of ideas. The best thing he did was go down to his local car scrap yard with a big bucket, slip the guy £15 quid and helped himself to all the wonderful looking parts. You will probably find you won't hardly need to bend or shape much at all as there is always something in a big box of scrap that does the job perfectly.

Wow! Those bikes are great! Chunkolini, are those wheels on your ones made on your pole set up thingy? I haven't got that far yet as I've got a bit obsessed with the giraffes........Everything is still a bit mish mash & the welding is often erratic to say the least! But I'm loving it :-)
Some great ideas from you all though - nice to find a friendly helpful bunch :-)

I made them on my metalcraft tool, but you could make them with a tube in a vice. They come out nice and round.
You are going the right way in my book.
Making stuff with erratic welding, you are learning about shaping things and welding at the same time.
This is how I run my classes these days. 15 minutes learning to handle a welder then get on with making stuff.
This is a nice helpful place, have a browse around and it is amazing the level of support offered here.
And no cockiness or putting down of people.
