Mma(stick) is welded with constant current. This means you set the current and that is what you get at the arc. (Remains constant ).
Mig is constant voltage. Same again you set the voltage it remains constant. The current on mig is variable with wire speed /stickout.
Mma is a fully manual process because arc length can be changed by raising and lowering the electrode
Mig is a semi auto process. Arc length stays the same despite stickout differences.

Can I just get some clarity on welder settings. I'm patching up my fairway taxi. Metal is 1.5 mm steel. Welder is set v 1 and w 3 I'm still blowing holes in the metal. Any idea where I'm going wrong?
