Did you manage pictures of the largest single handed clock in the world on the Coningsby village church and any of Tattershall Castle & the adjacent RAF's regimental church ?
The top of the castle can get you some amazing photos of the Battle of Britain memorial flight in good weather .
Also on days the memorial flight is on if you drive along the bank of the river Witham between Tattershall bridge village and chapel hill stop a few hundred yards west of the river Bain at Dogdyke and you'll often see some fantastic photographable fly pasts . Another great phot opportunity place is Chapel Hill itself on the bank of the River Witham, Chapel hill side ,100 yards to the west at the point aka the junction of the Sleaford cut and the River Witham.
I used to live there and also visited my Aunt many times for the last 20 years of her life. Her bungalow was immediately to the south of the village hall, the large dormer bedroom window faced west , many a time we'd watch the whole flight come over arching over to the west , able to see the pilots eyes on good days . It's worth planning ahead and contacting the memorial flight people for days when they are flying and get yourself in position well before take off.

We are about 15 minutes from Coningsby and they use my bungalow for strafing practiceWe are about an hour from Coningsby so made sense. We are pretty close to Donna Nook and there are flare trials this week, however Typhoons won out

I remain convinced the euro fighter must be very simple to fly on account of a friend who flies them. Singly the worst driver I’ve seen on the road. Surprised me he can walk in a straight lineThe display jet with the colours, it did an impromptu display over my house (100metres from Prestwick runway) I was sitting outside last summer with a beer, didn’t have time to get my phone to get a picture, he took off, practically went vertical then rolled almost inverted with re-heat, it was a sight to behold, Jack Russel terrorist who was on my lap almost shat herself, I’d have loved to have been in that jet, very impressive the power it has.
Well they’re fly by wire, the aircraft won’t make you make a bad mistake, you’re involved in aviation as I am, you’re trained to fly what you fly, they’re not going to make it to a typhoon if they don’t know what they’re doing. For RAF pilots it’s an extremely tight learning curve, the actual flying of the aircraft is just the beginning of a much larger steep learning curve, there’s so many systems to master.I remain convinced the euro fighter must be very simple to fly on account of a friend who flies them.
