I think that might be considered as 'pushing the limits' of the kit... I get a feeling, looking at kit, that the limits are are a lot lower now. One of the ratchet winches distorted and the pawl was half off the teeth. It was well under the rated load.You can get a lot more pull than that.
I pulled a steel framed barn square with a pair of ratchets the other day
Stuck a 6 ft steel bar in the handle for leverage and hung 15st off it.
Had to use a crow bar toget it undone and made one hell off a bang when the tension was released. But held it quite happily
The idea of using a long lever to 'help' crank up the load is sort of ignoring safe operating practice. You might get lucky, but likely not if you continue.
