Drop bed temp to 60° and make sure your fans are running.
PLA has large thermal expansion so getting it to hot can make it expand so much the nozzle will start dragging previous layers

Although it will be of no help to you I just printed the model on my Prusa with standard PLA settings and it came out fine. I won't go into the myriad of settings but essential ones were nozzle 220C, bed 50C, 5% infill (which I use for prototype parts, normally I use 20%). My suggestion would be to see if there is a standard profile for your printer in the slicer you are using and go from there. This assumes you have the bed level and first layer height all sorted. Good luck. By the way, the concept of taking a printer out of the box, switching it on and getting a perfect print resides only in the dreams of perfectionists. reality is somewhat different.

Ah, just found it's abs in the printer. That might explain some of the problems, I was using the settings for pla

I was assured that the bed is level and it's all ready to go, so I would like to think it's a 'variable' like temperature or feed rate that's causing the problem. Happy to be proven wrong on that

Yes I have an almost full reel of ABS here but its just too damned finnicky to print on my current system. Warps everywhere.

You can dial it out but its so fussy, I expect it will want settings linked to room temperature and its own enclosure.

I stick with PETG, never use anything else...

I would start by printing some calibration cubes/perimeter tests dial the machine in first then work through other settings. Go at it methodically there's lots of variables but if you can eliminate some it makes the problem simpler.

Does the XYZ have a part cooling fan (that will be a fan ducted to cool the printed part area)

What you want to do is work out a way to use Cura. Use a USB drive to carry the data and forget about trying to print directly from a PC.

I looked at the details and it doesn't look like the printer has a gantry height of 100 mm as stated so of you enter that don't try sequential printing.

That means if you print multipel models and enable that, models will be printed individually. That require the gantry height to be larger than your models or the first print will be knocked off the plate when number two starts.

Thanks @AndersK but it doesn't look like mine is on the list of compatible printers...it's a da Vinci 1.0, not a jr or a pro or anything. Oh and trying to get your head round all the different xyz models is like trying to learn greek

I reckon saving from cura onto a USB stick is the way to go

Just doing a bit of googling on this, it would appear that the chip in the filament cartridge dictates the print temperatures. But if I print from cura, does it use the temps I specify in cura or the ones on the cartridge?

Yes. In Cura just make up your own filament profile and tell it what temperature to print. On my simple Ender3 i think the temp is actually set in the GCODE but I am also a simple user, not a programmer.
