I’ve been shooting rats at a local farm once or twice a week for the last nine years ! Anywhere there is animal food you will find rats, at the farm stables the horse food was stored in plastic dustbins and the rats eat through the bins !
In the chicken pen I wait until dark and use an air rifle with night vision and usually get from ten to over thirty, it’s never ending but regular visits keep the numbers under control.
Do you setup a bait station in a good shooting location or do you just shoot them where they happen to be. Apparently chocolate spread and peanut butter works well for bait as they can't just pick it up and run of, so whilst their licking away you have time to take the shot.
if you cement holes up they dig it back out. shot broken glass in the mix and they don't if the holes are away from buildings just flood the holes with propane and oxygen. shove some wire wool in the hole prod a couple of leads in it stand back and connect to a battery job done
