Hi Guys,
Did the wiring in the garage today, long story short ran lights and sockets off one 16a mcb (with the lights through a 3a fused spur)
This freed up a 6a MCB (old Light one) just solely for the compressor, replaced that with a 16a Type B... fired up the compressor with the outlet open and it popped the breaker straight away, reset and tried again... This time it started ok (with a little brief light dimming) ran the compressor for 10 mins as advised in the instructions, used it a bit and it fired up fine everytime.
I'll see how it gets on from cold tomorrow.. If it pops again i do have a 16a type C MCB i could use instead.
I have wired the compressor with 4mm cable to the MCB, I have 4mm 30a armoured cable into the garage RCD from the house, so i figure if i still have problems with a Type C popping i could upgrade the MCB to a 20a and that would still be the weakest point in the circuit.
