Nothing to compare it with as never used one before but its comfortable for the little time I've used it and works well.

Its not bad, but I'd also bought a cheap chinese Ginour at the same time. I was disappinted to find the Ginour had a clearer and better true colour screen, though it wasnt a huge difference ( but the price was). I bought a spare Ginour as I couldnt resist at £32.

I believe there are lots of other brands of the same quality or better on amazon prime. Its a small risk to try them, but if it turns out to be rubbish, the returns is easy to send it back.

I've been using an esab Savage A50 Lux
For the last couple to three months.
I really like it so far, it's got the same OpTCS true-color as the Sentinel A60 just in a smaller package 60mm x 100mm
It also has 1/1/1/1 optics

The headgear is very comfortable I really like it, easily adjustable again the same gear as the A60 Sentinel.

The Shade Range is 5 - 13

What makes it different from the sentinals is the outer shield is resessed and not heavily curved like the A50 & A60 Sentinel
It also comes with a built in Torch which I found pretty handy when I needed it.
This uses a separate battery.

I bought it in Ireland for,

€257 incl VAT

t's a really good hood at a good price imo.
great bang for buck.

They also do the Air/papr version.

The place I got mine also do conversion kits to go from a standard to an Air version.

The Lidl true colour is not the best but recently they had it for £25 I think it was, may have been £20.. thats hard to beat. I already have a spare lid but otherwise I'd have got one.

Mrs brought me one home as a spare….still in the box, not tried it yet.

Putting comfort etc aside, is there a difference in helmets in terms of the optical shielding they provide? I.e. is £200 helmet offering better eye protection than say the lidl £20 one?

I dont believe so, the plastic used is opaque to UV so its more about comfort.
