It looks like the P stands for Plain ( as opposed to quick release) Wonder if the T'D stands for thread?
WOW-----thats the beauty of not having a concience, BARGAIN.--3 phase?? or single. Suds pump, Hmmn but it maybe proves it has at least been used- nowt to fix for a man of your capabilities.
there was another a few weeks ago when a long established several gererations of a family Blacksmiths/ eng closed for good and sold off the land for housing, they held an on site auction, couldnt imagine the machine making much. yet another bargain for someone.

An older Record or Irwin can always be identified by the rounded shape of the screw head, the bit with the handle through it. Later ones are just turned off cylindrically.
I also have one but with quick release. The jaws are on eBay with screws but not cheap for what they are..https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184680568802Well I picked this up yesterday. It looks like it has had some use but it functions as it should. I can't help but feel the older gear was built to a better quality than the new stuff.
It may get a refurb if I get time, but for now it's perfectly functional.
Does anyone know what type screw holds the jaws on. One has head missing so it would be nice to replace it.
Sorry for the thread resurrection!
