Ok I have picked up a new welder and regulator but the reg is for a argoshield bottle and dont fit my pub co2 bottle is there adaptors available?

There are indeed, I haven't got the part number of the top of my head but they're not too expensive. Too be fair mate, you can pick up a CO2 regulator for around £20 delivered, less if you've got a local. Might be an idea

i have a co2 reg but it is not adjustable nor does it have a gauge on it

the boc one i just acquired from @rosinante has 2 gauges and is adjustable

so what is my best option here?

get a gauge/regulator for a CO2 cylinder as the adaptor may cost as much as the regulator. if you use a 2 gauge regulator with CO2, ignore the gauge that shows the contents left in the cylinder, as the CO2 is a liquid in the cylinder, not a gas, so will give a wrong reading.

it is adjustable it has a lock nut and a screw so would need a gauge to see what its set too

liking the adaptor though

Also ignore the gauge that is supposed to display the flow if it's a dial type - they lie 97.52% of the time and aren't worth having anyway.

I'd use the fixed co2 one you already have and add a real flowmeter.

flow meter might cost more than the adaptor

get a pea shooter type, less than £7 from the uk or less than £3 from china

so on the flow meter u can turn the gas supply up and down easier than messing with the screw on the reg, sorry for the questions i have only miged with gasless wire

Post some photos of both regs, your cylinder valve and the machine hose fitting and it will make life easier to help you select what you need.

well the co2 reg is a female end the argon one is a male end ill take some pics tomorrow the co2 bottle has a male threaded fitting

you can get a peashooter as said earlier, they are more accurate than the gauges, you stick them over the end of the mig shroud and with the gas flowing the ball in it shows the flow of gas. you'll still need to adjust the flow on the regulator though

Needs to be upright so the ball can float. Best bet is to skip the Co2 and move to Argon/Co2 mix as the welds will be better and cost you less in the long run.

ha ha ha i like the idea of the one with the knob to turn to adjust flow because i may be welding outdoors sometimes on the truck and want to turn it up quickly
