Leave the flowmeter knob open and adjust the regulator to what you need or you will end up wasting gas as you get a burst of high pressure before the flow settles unless you have a two stage regulator.

Easiest and cheapest option you can use with what you have, just store it safely.

no thats the wrong adaptor again, thats for connecting a CO2 regulator to an argon bottle.

got me pea shooter today the flow is only about 1LPM the bottom measurent is 3LPM

what should my CO2 flow rate be for welding in the workshop please? I think 1LPM is probably not enough but it welds just fine with that flow rate

Typical MIG welding with argoshield you'll want around 8-10 LPM

wow 8-10 LPM thats a lot of gas i wonder if the pea shooter is junk?!

welds are good with it as it is i can hear and smell the gas coming out but it is not loud

co2 is not odourless u can taste it like a dodgy coke in a pub! ill mess with the reg then see if i can get the flow rate up some what, the weld i did on the 1mm steel were great to be fair i have not tried anything more substaitial i use the stick for that

Chemically, carbon dioxide is odourless, colourless and tasteless, just like carbon monoxide and argon (etc.)

If you can smell yours, it's either had an odouriser added or you have a magic nose

I have a massive magic nose lol

I guess the pub co2 reg is set lower than what one would use for welding

I tried to adjust the reg but it dont seem to like it as it is pushing the gas out of the saftey release valve is it time to purchase a new reg

One shows the bottle pressure, the other 'pretends' to show flow rate...

and shows the regulated pressure not the flow rate
