Regulator / trap

Found this little bugger to go in me airline system to stop **** being sent through the air hose when spraying. As far as i know it is a regulator (0.4 to 10 bar so it says). It also has two bowls - one trap for water, one trap for oil????
At sometime the input has been on the left, with the output on the right (going by the male and female connector locations), but, on the right hand side of the gauge, there is an arrow stamped on the body which points to the left. is this the direction of airflow, if so, the inlet and outlet connectors have been put on the wrong way round?
help.

yes arrows normaly indicate flow direction.

If your spraying, remove the oiler. Or it will try to oil you spray work which isnt good

which is the oiler? Is it not an oil filter (remover) rather than an oiler?

No the one on the right is the oiler. Would normally be filled with oil to lubricate tools like die grinders, drills, wrneches etc

i have one similar to this m8, and mine is for oiling my air tools

mine also has an adjuster to vary the amount of oil, yours may not be as i am sure you can get oil separators also, if its not got oil in it then it cant harm your paint jobs, if it is an oiler

Oh balls, I hate painting and im crap at it as well, Every welder i know seems to hate it something in the breed im guessing.

stuff the painting idea, ive just had a job to do 40 meters of wrought iron railings, first off they wanted me to paint them, politely told them no

and that it would work out cheaper to galvanize them, which lucky for me they agreed

You mean they are having them in a galvanize finish?. Can't beat a nice 70% gloss black, sprayed on correctly can easy put powder coating to shame

yes m8 they were sent of to be galvanized yesterday, should be back today

i agree painted would look real nice, but not if im the one who has to paint them, plus they wont rust for the next decade

Anyone recommend a good dryer/filter for spraying?

I've got a regulator inc water seperator, but i think i need a dryer too?
