Repair to fly press arm

Press fit. Will be welded in when I get a chance. Then machine/modify the arms and weld in position.

Decided to do a quick bit of welding. Top and bottom of the plate. As you can see, I will need to machine the arms a bit before welding in place.

I had imagined you'd notch the diamond plate to accept the arms within it, make welding easier and reduce twisting of the arms. But underneath will be more than strong enough I'm sure and am sure will weld fine

Done. More welding practice completed. Some mistakes. Some lessons learned. I don't think it will fall apart any time soon.

Main problem I noticed was distortion of the diamond plate. Welding the arms on top pulled the plate up a bit. Not really a problem for this application (maybe even an advantage) but I'd change method if I did it again.

Not as good as sea dogs but it now works, the screw was also bent on this preventing it from traveling all the way, I took it out applied some heat and squeezed it
