If you’ve got a decent heat source, a patch may be better. I would use an opened up section of copper plumbing pipe and silver solder

I think copper pans need to be coated with tin on the inside to make them safe for some types of cooking so you might want to use something that is compatible with tin plating?

Indeed DO NOT COOK WITH IT FIND A BIN FOR IT. If you really want a copper pan GO BUY ONE.

Silver solder is for small gaps. You'll struggle to fill a hole with it.

Personally I would TIG weld it with pure copper.

If they've used lead solder on that I'm not sure I'd want to be eating out of it.

Modern silver solder is fine but the old stuff had cadmium.
