Reviving a 12v jump start battery from 0v - possible?

I have had various results with discharged car and motorcycle batteries over the years,
The usual is, it seems to be ok, if you drive it every day,
Until the winter, cold weather comes along,
One hard frost, cold morning, and it drops you right in it,
I have had a few that seem to have survived, but its not the normal way it goes,
And I may add,
I have had perfectly good batteries just fall over and let you down,
One being my Kawasaki ZX12R, in 2013, just south of Paris,

It looks like my battery has been recycled.
That was a right saga
But that is another whole story

Modern batteries seem to fail suddenly, ok one day dead the next. Going back, you used to try to coax them through the winter, knowing it would last the summer. Having said that, my last battery lasted 11 years, unheard of at one time, 3 years if you were lucky.

Thanks all. For interest only, I'll have a dig around and see if I can find an old battery charger, but I don't hold out much hope.

What about using a good battery, connected to the dead battery to supply the 12v+
And connecting a battery charger to supply a charge,
I have done this in the past,
I do not know, I can't imagine it would, damage the good battery

I have an Optimate smart charger, quite clever - it starts trying to charge at 12v, if that isn't going well it tries a burst at 18v to get things moving, if no joy it then tries 24v

If it still doesn't get the reaction it's happy with, it starts flashing big red warning lamps. The instructions translate these as "Bin it and buy a new one"

I've got one of those and it's been brilliant!
Using it on my original from new TRX battery that lasted well over 12 years of infrequent use before it finally died.
My spare smaller bike battery then was bodged in to get me started one day and that's still going strong after many manys years!
As for the jump start battery? I'll bet it's as dead as Elvis Presley!
